Your 2026 Giants: Posey Boldly Trades Bailey

The Giants traded Patrick Bailey to Cleveland for a AA pitcher, Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson and their 29th overall pick in the upcoming draft.  Here is one of NBC’s accounts of the trade and this is MLB’s report.

Your 2026 Giants: Patrick Bailey

Bailey is probably the most misunderstood player on the Giants roster, now that Mike Yastrzemski is no longer on the team.  Players with good defense but only okay offense gets maligned because their defensive value isn’t recognized (like JT Snow).  Many fans want him gone, mainly because of his bat. Many also think his framing skills advantage will disappear with the new ABS system.

Your 2024 Giants: Snellzilla Signed!

As reported widely, the Giants signed Blake Snell to a two-year contract for $62M, with an opt out.  They also split each season's contract roughly in half, with half paid one season, the rest paid as bonus two years later, spreading the cash flow over the next four years, essentially.  

Your 2023 Giants: To Zaidi or Not Series - Realists vs. Rationalizing Fans

There was only going to be seven in my series. But I decided to add a bonus additional one because of my recent interaction with a troll (he/she called themselves that).

He/she said that he/she is a realist and that I'm just rationalizing my thoughts on why I think the Giants can be competitive in 2024.  Thinking through this, I realized that much of what the downcast Giants fans are doing are rationalizations of their unhappiness with the team.
