Seems like it was just the other day that I published the 10th one. Time sure flies!

The rotation's progress stalled a little in this turn of the rotation. They only got 2 DOM starts out of the five, though if Bochy would have let Lincecum go another inning, he would had the third one for this round. Or if he had allowed Petit to go another inning. So the streak of three weeks of 3 DOM starts ended. Two is still good.
However, more importantly, their streak of 0 DIS starts continued for the fourth week. As I've noted before, DIS starts are what blows up ERAs, generally, DOM starts obviously give you a great chance of winning, but MID starts at least gives your team a chance to win, generally. And for the past four turns of the rotation, the pitchers have generally given the team a chance to win.
And it has, they are 13-6 in that span, with one game suspended until later this season. Over that span, the rotation has gone 61% DOM/ 0% DIS, which is great for any one hurler, but obviously much greater when a whole rotation is operating at that level.
The two DOM hurlers this time were Bumgarner and Hudson. Cain missed his start because of his hamstring (and he just got DLed) so Petit got his start again. Petit was close to getting a DOM game but got BABIPed, he was only one inning away from earning a DOM. A commenter made the good point that Petit appears to be petering out after 4 innings, and I noted that Petit has not been taking regular bullpens as most pitchers do because he doesn't know exactly when he'll be pitching (or even starting). Still, he has a 25% DOM/ 25% DIS, not good, not bad, but generally much better than most teams can expect to get out of their spot starter in long relief.
But he was in a bit of trouble at the time he got pulled, so that was more legit, whereas Lincecum, who also was one inning away from a DOM start, probably could have gone that additional inning - he had a no-hitter going at that point, but also a lot of walks - but got pulled because his spot in the lineup was coming up. He was still under 100 pitches and probably could have gone at least one more inning, if not two. But unfortunately, the Giants offense up to that point also was scoreless, and Bochy wanted to get a run (didn't work though, although eventually the Giants did win).
And this is for the next report, but Bumgarner tonight was on fire again. Second straight start with 10 K's, and almost second one with 0 walks (he had the one). Whatever funk he was in his first month of starts appear to be over for a while now, he now has five DOM starts out of six starts now.
But for this report, he's at 55% DOM and his DIS is still high but slowly going down with each start. Hudson is at 67%, Lincecum also at 55%. Vogelsong is at 46% and Cain is stuck at 43% (and will continue to be now that he's DLed). All good or better, great spot for our rotation to be in.
