These are just my opinions. I cannot promise that I will be perfect, but I can promise that I will seek to understand and illuminate whatever moves that the Giants make (my obsession and compulsion). I will share my love of baseball and my passion for the Giants. And I will try to teach, best that I can. Often, I tackle the prevailing mood among Giants fans and see if that is a correct stance, good or bad.

Lowry is Back, Jack! Numero Deux
It is actually a couple of games now (been busy with last couple of posts) since his last start but Lowry had another encouraging game. He struck out 4 in 6 IP, but had those 4 in the first 4 IP, if I remember right. In addition, from the radio broadcast on KNBR, the announcers noted that he broke three bats (if not more but I remember 3) in either the 5th or 6th inning. That is a sure sign that his fast ball is working again: if I remember right, breaking bats is a good sign for a pitcher's fast ball, and good signs are what we need for Lowry because his stats, particularly in regards to strikeouts, have looked anemic all season long since his oblique strain. The loss in velocity made his changeup less devastating and hence the loss of strikeouts earlier in the season. Hope this continues...
