Whether it is infectious, competitiveness, or copy catting, I think the starting pitching will start taking things to another level in the second half.

Meanwhile, the offense will continue chugging along, being the Little Engine That Could. Frankly, even with the offense doing poorly in April, including all the new position starters and Renteria, and the pitching wasn't on a tear yet, we ended the month at .500 anyway. So unless the entire offense collapses, I think that .500 the rest of the way is the minimum I would expect, and given that I think the starting pitching should be improved, I think the team should be pushing hard for the wild card slot, and with so many games left to play against the D-gers, they could get close enough to take the division title.

With each team the way they are, I would be disappointed if the Giants don't win the wild card and make the playoffs. But if a team makes a wild and crazy trade that nets them a good player, then all bets are off.

However, I don't see the D-gers continuing to win like they did early on. I think they will come back to Earth in the second half, and they started to in June before taking off again in July, I guess when Manny came back. Plus we have 9 more games against them.obsessivegiantscompulsivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11362706004246875823noreply@blogger.com
