You're correct about Rolen, bad move and too much liability. We obviously both disagree on Rios, but Crede would be an awful move. He's 30 and he probably hit his peak in 2006 when he swatted 30 home runs. Ironically his injury record you mentioned is tarnished with a histoy back problems, like Rolen. I really would like to see Andy Marte from Cleveland, he needs consistent playing time and the Giants could give it to him. The fact is the Giants cannot give up too much this offseason, they're going to have to get creative and take some risks on young guys.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23735245.post-23639894516813399402007-12-05T11:03:00.000-08:002007-12-05T11:03:00.000-08:00Hello Martin. He does have the injury issue, but seems to be a bona fide 3b, decent defense, decent power - not quite in the Rolen class, b ut aMLB 3b nonetheless. What I think makes him most attractive - or makes a Giants-White Sox trade attractive - is that the WS need a CF. My proposal is Roberts for Crede, filling both teams needs and more or less cancelling out the contracts.<BR/> I am also semi-hying Mike Lamb who, as a FA, wouldn't cost any prospects and hits well. He may only be a platoon player (he hits LH), so I wouldn't mind a Lamb/Aurilia platoon, keeping Frandsen at 2b and Durham, well, somewhere else. I don't really remember that much about Lamb - do you know anything about his defense?allfrankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03603053163603458876noreply@blogger.com
